The Hush Now have a new single, “Arkansas”, out ahead of their new album Memos set for a September 27th release. “Arkansas” is a light, plucky indie pop tune that almost keeps with The Hush Now’s style and sound. Almost.

With “Arkansas” The Hush Now produce a slightly smoother blend of their light-hearted shoe-gaze inspired vocal melodies. Similarly, when it's compared to other HN tracks, the guitar and keyboard are slightly less intense but still characteristically upbeat on "Arkansas". The music is light and moves along at a great pace. I love the way the vocals seem to soar away and then return to the earth to be with the music; creating a rolling movement that keeps me listening and makes me really want to hear the rest of the band’s third album.

Overall, "Arkansas" sounds huge, polished and engaging without losing its edge or being overproduced. Totally a great tease for an album I now have high hopes for! And if you can’t wait until the 27th and are in the band’s native Boston area, check out their release party on September 23rd.
