Music Player:

Dolfish is really Max Sollisch, a slightly cheeky young man from Cleveland who has landed in Columbus, OH, with his bittersweet sense of humor and a guitar. True to his ironic sense, his first album, Your Love is Bumming Me Out is due be released on?

Valentine’s Day. Oh yes!

Sollisch’s sound overall is a little hard to describe, Neil Young with modern grit, perhaps? His songs ring in as a unique blend of country and indie garage pop. Played out with rough guitars but polished voice at speeds that belie just how much is going to fit into a few precious seconds. Regardless, it works. There’s a great nod to old school country and folk with a modern edge.

His songs are, proudly stated, at 2 minutes or less and filled with sad irony that still makes you smile. He manages to build stories in these snippets that make the listener actively listen and in an amazingly short time, identify with the character he’s created. As a matter of fact, the entire album is only 8 minutes and the length may just be brilliant in the long run. Why? Because every song is so short and sweet, you are left wanting more in the long run.
