Who doesn't love a free music series? Jhameel's the latest to jump on the trend with his Waves series.

Over five weeks, the San Francisco musician released a new song every Tuesday, each with its own unique artwork. The series may have reached its end, but that doesn't mean the songs are worth jumping back to listen to.

The third in the series, "Waves," is full of lovely, tinkling piano and nice mid-tempo percussion, but not much else. A definite change from "Shut Up," released earlier this year, and even most of the other songs in the series, this song is definitely a more stripped down and serious Jhameel. Don't think it isn't still a fun song, though--it still is Jhameel's signature pop.

As nice as the instrumentation is, "Waves" also wonderfully showcases Jhameel's smooth vocal ability. Here, they're relaxed and steady, working with the piano and lyrics to make the song feel very honest and personal: "Is there no tomorrow for us? / Is there life or death / Or nothing at all?"

With songs like this, there's definitely a tomorrow for Jhameel. In addition to "Waves," be sure to check out the rest of the series here.
