Indie-poppers and Berklee alums Via Audio might be onto something with their new song, "Babies." As a tongue in cheek slice of pop gold, the chorus punchline "I want to make babies with you" comes out more Flight of the Conchords than Bloodhound Gang, suggesting both a possible departure from the more earnest and less fun sound of their debut album, Say Something, as well as a potential new humorous trend in indie songwriting. After all, if the Conchords are hanging up the Mum guitar and the Dad guitar for good, who is to say others can't pick up the torch of crafting pop songs as novelties that are bangers enough to be heard at the bar? More on the tune and the release date of Via Audio's latest album after the jump.

"Babies" is one such song, blending Daft Punk French house into bedroom pop with absolute ease. It's a versatile little tune, in that it will move some hips, tickle a few funny bones and still have enough leftover to set the mood for a little romance. Via Audio's newest LP, Animalore, hits February 23 so be on the lookout, and check below for the downloadable MP3 of "Babies."
