Mountain Goats mastermind John Darnielle was forced to announce a regretful renege on shows in Orlando and St, Augustine, FL earlier this week. “You know how much I love you, I hope,” Darnielle wrote to the his crestfallen fans. “But I am too sick to play tonight and tomorrow...Tried to push through but - well, as a former nurse, I could give you a pretty vivid description of some secretions this morning; I always took pride in my charting.”

Darnielle was forced to cancel a performance last night and one tonight, promising to make it up to would-be attendees as soon as humanly possible. Upon the renewal of his health, which he projected to be Thanksgiving, the singer-songwriter plans to resume his itinerary, heading to the nation's capitol and pointing north before eventually returning to the Sunshine State and making up his canceled performances.

As of this time there was no talk of reimbursement to those fans kept from seeing the Mountain Goats. We at IYS will hopefully not have to report that John Darnielle is a total fink any time soon.
