Last year, Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock took some time away from his band to record Portland, OR newcomers, Mimicking Birds. The band's self-titled debut, recorded and produced by Brock, was just released last week on Brock's own Glacial Pace Recordings label. Filled with soft finger-picked acoustic guitar, lead singer Nate Lacy's soothing vocals and solid indie-folk sensibilities, fans of City and Colour or Blind Pilot should inquire within.
