Canadian indie-pop band Metric is releasing an EP full of acoustic renditions of the songs of their recent fourth release Fantasies. Entitled Plug In Plug Out, the EP is available exclusively at Amazon.com in the US, the UK, France, and Germany until November 27th. After that day, the EP will be available worldwide – except Canada.

What? A Canadian band making an acoustic EP available in all those other suck-ass countries and not their own homeland? Heresy! Total bullshit! But before you go sharpening your pitchforks and lighting your torches, be it known that Metric is “really, really sorry about this.”

“Due to the contract with our former Canadian label, we will not be able to offer the EP for sale in Canada until 2010... Obviously, we know this totally sucks, we love Canada and hate that this is the case, but we promise to make the EP available in Canada as soon as humanly possible!”

As consolation, the band is offering bonus tracks to those who use the Interweb to supersede record label hurdles by purchasing the EP at www.ilovemetric.com.
