Last Saturday, at the BET Hip-Hop Awards while accepting the Lyricist of the Year Award, Lil Wayne announced that he is expecting the birth of his first son. At the end of his speech he said "I got a son about to be born any day now, so shout-out to him. Pray for me.""

Lil Wayne was named MVP at BET Hip-Hop Awards where he said that being there was "Just another distraction from what I really wanna be doing — being in the studio recording. That's my job to do these award shows and shows. My life is the studio recording."

He has also announced that he is going to re-release "Tha Carter III" with a completely different track listing with brand new songs - it is not going to be Tha Carter IV !
