The american band The Killers formed in 2002, rose to worldwide stardom in 2004, and now, in 2010, are declaring an indefinite hiatus scheduled to begin next month. The group are about to play a series of shows in Asia and Australia, and have revealed in an interview with AAP that the February 21 show in Melbourne will be their "last for the foreseeable future." Why, you ask? Guitarist Dave Keuning revealed in the same interview that the band "want a little bit of time off, just to be [themselves] and do what [they] want to do for a little bit." When asked if the hiatus would be a permanent breakup, he also declared "Not as far as I know." Could this have anything to do with the recent rumors of Brandon Flowers' thoughts of leaving the band to pursue a solo career? More from Keuning's interview with AAP after the jump.
"I'm not sure if people are aware of it but these are probably our last shows for a while," guitarist Dave Keuning of The Killers remarked to the AAP earlier this week. "We haven't had a break in quite a while. It's just been touring and making records and on and on and on. It's been like six years just kind of connected together. It's like people just expect us to do that non-stop till we die, but we just want a little bit of time off, just to be myself and do what I want to do for a little bit." Keuning also said that he was looking forward to spending more time with his four-year-old son. Their last show will be in Melbourne, Australia on February 21.
