Nowhere Boy, a film based on the book Imagine This: Growing Up With My Brother John Lennon, tells the story of John Lennon's childhood and early adolescence growing up in Liverpool, and its close suburb, Woolton, England. Matt Greenhalgh, the man who wrote the screenplay to the film (and also wrote the script for the 2007 Joy Division film Control), worked with director Sam Taylor-Wood, and author of Imagine This, Lennon's half-sister Julia Baird. The film also includes music by Goldfrapp. See after the jump for more.

Nowhere Boy premiered last night (October 29th) as part of the closing night of the London Film Festival. However, its official release date has been scheduled for December 26th. British electronic music group, Goldfrapp, wrote the score to the film, and blogged frequently about their experience. On their blog, Alison Goldfrapp writes, "We have written the score for a film called 'Nowhere boy'. It's about John Lennon as a boy… It’s truly amazing that they gave us the opportunity to do this. We are all really excited about going to Abbey Road studios (the studios where The Beatles recorded most of their studio material) soon to record the strings with the full orchestra." Now that the film has been completed, Goldfrapp has moved onto finishing their next album. More on that as it comes. For now, enjoy Nowhere Boy's official trailer, right here at IYS for your viewing.
