I've always found it hard to explain the difference between concerts that are merely good, and those that are phenomenal. Usually, the separation between the two revolves around a few carefully chosen adjectives. For the vast majority of concerts (herein labeled 'ok'), words like 'good' get thrown around; for those oh-so-rare concerts that metaphorically blow my socks off only terms of the 'incredible' sort suffice. But, even under under the best conditions with pieces produced by the most talented of writers, words sometimes just don't do an event justice. Such was the case with a show I recently attended, a concert so sonically and visually appealing that words can't suffice this time around. Gang Gang Dance and Grizzly Bear, (two of our favorite acts) played one of the best shows in recent memory, and thankfully, we were there to photograph the event in all of its technicolor glory. So throw on Veckatimest or Saint Dymphna, and click on through to see the gallery!
