It seems like Grizzly Bear can do no wrong. Just over five years and three records into their career, the quartet has garnered near-unanimous praise from fans and fellow musicians alike. Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead, while on tour together, referred to the group as his favorite band. Even Jay-Z is down with Grizzly Bear, having referred to the band as something of an inspiration and as a definite force within the indie music scene. So it's no surprise then, that Grizzly Bear's one-off take on Hot Chip's sad-disco powerhouse "And I Was A Boy From School" is as effortlessly good as it is completely transformed.

The cover reduces the thumping beat of the original to a simmering bedroom confessional, replacing splashing synth rhythms with a guitar and a simple acoustic phrase. The Grizzly Bear version doesn't necessarily bring anything new to the song itself, instead revealing a bare and vulnerable essence to the tune that may have been hidden just beneath the surface on the original.
