Critically lauded folk-rockers Great Lake Swimmers have been getting a lot of attention these days, and like any group of smart, culturally savvy musicians looking to make a living playing tunes, the band is giving their attentive press no shortage of things to talk about. Having released their fourth studio album Lost Channels earlier this year to highly positive reviews, Great Lake Swimmers followed up with The Legion Sessions, a series of live renditions of songs from the album recorded in a Royal Canadian Legion Hall and released as videos on Vimeo and Youtube throughout the year. Most recently, the band have offered fans some free downloads for the holidays, including a cover of Elvis Presley's classic "Don't Be Cruel." Now, in anticipation of their new EP, Song Sung Blue, Great Lake Swimmers are letting fans stream the whole disc for free. More info after the jump!
Available here, the playlist for the EP leads off with the titular cover of Neil Diamond's classic "Song Sung Blue," with the remainder of the tracks consisting of quaint instrumentals perfect for enjoying that morning cup of tea.
The Song Sung Blue EP is out now via weewerk.
