Kanye For President

It's 2020. Yeezus is President of the United States of America. As we rejoice in his presidential swagger and confusing but heartfelt speeches, we remember the memes that were instrumental in convincing the country that Kanye West — rapper, father, fish — was created to run our glorious land.

In case you live in a hole in the ground, Kanye West recently announced that he will be running for president in 2020, following a long but ever-so-moving VMA acceptance speech. The memes that were born following the announcement are priceless, and we would like to share ten of our favorites with all of you.

1. Take The Edge Off

If you didn't see Kanye's speech, he actually admitted that he had smoked one or two marijuanas beforehand, saying "Y'all might be thinking right now, 'I wonder did he smoke something before he came out here?' And the answer is yes, I rolled up a little something, I knocked the edge off." Being the comedically proficient show that they are, American Dad spun off that line and came up with this gem:

2. Mount Westmore

Just imagine: you arrive at the historic Mount Rushmore, home of the giant stone faces of America's most prolific men in history. As you scan the faces of the men that made our country great, you gasp in awe. Upon the face of the mountain lies the epic visage of none other than President Kanye West, the man who legalized marijuana, taking the entire country's edge off and starting a new age of poorly worded but well-intentioned sentences ending in "bro."

3. Kanye vs. Trump

As terrifying as it is that super rich celebrities can just decide that they want to run for president and actually go through with it, would it not be worth accepting that the country is screwed in order to see these two knuckleheads running against each other?

4. The Official Seal Of President West

MTV polled Twitter with this one:

Although the meme was decent, we were very relieved to see that the general consensus was this:

5. Kanye In The House

Playing off of the Disney TV show "Cory In The House," Dj Akademiks put his professional photo shop skills to work to create the mildly disturbing image you see before you.

It looks like he's about to crush it, and not in a good way.

6. Imma Let You Finish Obama, But...

Can you guess what's going through Obama's head?

7. West/Swift 2020

Just imagine the White House with Kanye West as President, Taylor Swift as VP, and Kim Kardashian as First Lady. America would LITERALLY be a reality TV show, and I would literally move to Sweden.

2,000+ endorsements. Get out while you still can.

8. Change We Can't Believe In

The artist that made the iconic Obama "Change" portrait has said that he doesn't think Obama has lived up to it's promise. Maybe it's time to give Yeezy a chance, eh?

Seems legit. Swear him in.

9. Bruh!

One of the best parts of Kanye's speech (and probably the only part of it that will be remembered by the time he gets elected) was his liberal use of "bro" and "bruh." Knowing him and his political savvy though, it was probably all part of a genius plan to secure the vote with the future frat-boy demographic. Very smooth, Mr. West.

10. Kanye For President

Just picture Kanye standing at the podium during the State of the Union address. After stumbling through a completely unprepared speech with no apparent continuity, he clears his throat and says: "Y'all might be thinking right now, 'I wonder did he smoke something before he came out here?' And the answer is yes, I rolled up a little something, I knocked the edge off."

He pulls the mic off the podium, drops it on the floor, and walks off stage.

Standing ovation.
