
So far this year, Conor Oberst and his fellow Bright Eyes cohorts have continued to maintain a low profile. Well, until now. With new Bright Eyes material out next month and a fan video release for Monsters of Folk's "Dear God" in tow, Oberst is about to ignite the indie airwaves once again. Back in 2004, Bright Eyes ringleader Conor Oberst and fellow Nebraskan friends, Neva Dinova, released a collaborative EP, titled One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels. Although he has been involved heavily with both Monsters of Folk and the Mystic Valley Band most recently, Oberst, with Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott (both Bright Eyes members), The Faint’s Clark Baechle, and Neva Dinova’s Roger Lewis have joined forces to record four brand spanking new tracks for the reissue of One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels, slated for a March 23 release. Speaking of Monsters of Folk, the supergroup, comprised of Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis, Jim James from My Morning Jacket, and M. Ward of She and Him, has announced the winners of a recent fan video contest for the song, “Dear God”. The guys picked Kathleen Bryson’s and Nele Hecht’s entry out of over a hundred submissions to YouTube, Apple QT, and Death and Taxes Magazine, who held the competition.
