Start your Holidays right... with Camera Obscura! Camera Obscura is one of the first groups to record a Chrismas single for the year, and it sounds as beautiful as ever. "It was written by country artist Jim Reeves and is about a gentleman trying to get home to a gal named Mary Anne. He’s riding a lame pony in a blizzard, and, well – it doesn’t have a happy ending. He ends up just 100 yards short – ie: freezing to death before he gets there. " 4AD posted a link to the youtube video where one can listen to the single late last night, and we have that posted after the jump. They also announced the single's official release will be December 8th. Titled "The Blizzard," the holiday two-song single will be available as a 7" vinyl record and digital download with a b-side of "Swans," a track off their latest album, My Maudlin Career. More information - including the remaining dates of their world tour - after the jump.
