Frontman Kele Okereke of the English indie rock band Bloc Party recently leaked the unsettling news of the band taking a break after their current tour. Accusing Kele of being an "insatiable workaholic" and hinting that that he may not work with the group again, drummer Matt Tong announced in an interview with BBC Subculture that he has thoughts of leaving the band alltogther. He said, "As for me, I don't know, I wouldn't mind trying something else for a while." Later Tong said how he hoped the band hiatus would leave them healthy and revitalised. More from Matt Tong's interview with BBC Subculture after the jump.

Matt Tong implied he would prefer a complete change in his music career, rather than a simple hiatus from Bloc Party. "I definitely don't think this will be the last you'll hear of the people who make up Bloc Party," he said. "Kele is an insatiable workaholic and creating is something he is so connected to, so you'll definitely hear from him again, along with Russell [Lissack, guitar] and Gordon [Moakes, bass]. As for me, I don't know, I wouldn't mind trying something else for a while." It seems to IYS that the whole situation is more of a love/hate type of deal, and that Matt Tong and the rest of the band just really need a break. Since their mega-hit debut, Silent Alarm, back in 2005, they have kept a consistent stream of studio releases every year. "We definitely need to have a break and gain a bit of perspective on life outside of the band," Tong said. "Hopefully if we do reconvene at some point in the future we'll be refreshed and have so many ideas to bring to what it is we do."

Keep your fingers crossed, folks.
