It's time to get your pouty faces on and dust off the old diaries, folks. Twee-pop titans Belle and Sebastian are officially off hiatus and hitting the road for some summer festival dates. Not only that, but the newly-reunited band have reported they've been busy in Glasgow writing new material, and are presently preparing to lay down some gloomy goodness in Los Angeles for an upcoming new album. Read on for all the moody details.
On break since 2006's chart-climbing success The Life Pursuit, Belle and Sebastian have been keeping themselves busy with other projects. Bobby Kildea and Stevie Jackson joined the reformed Vaselines on tour, while Stuart Murdoch has been hard at work on his upcoming musical film God Help the Girl; having released the soundtrack during the summer of last year, Murdoch is now aiming for shooting to begin sometime in 2010. The reformed Belle and Sebastian have announced three upcoming festival dates this summer, with reports of a UK show in the works to be announced soon.
