It's been quite the month for music festival announcements: Coachella, Bonnaroo, Pitchfork, and now ATP New York. As in previous years, ATPNY's lineup rests firmly within the realm of independent music hosting acts such as Sonic Youth, Fuck Buttons and The Books. Also not surprisingly, at least a handful of these acts (including Explosions in the Sky) will only be playing ATP this summer, at least as far as festivals are concerned.

Indie filmaker Jim Jarmusch will be curating Sunday's lineup. His choices for the day including Girls, Fucked Up, and the Vivian Girls were apparently selected for their likeness to the filmaker's own gritty artistic style. Bear this in mind when checking out the rest of the day's lineup after the break. Also, although it remains to be seen what sort of films Jarmusch will include in the third day of the festival, you can moderately sure that nearly everything presented will be of an independent nature.

We here at Inyourspeakers hope you've been scrounging/saving since ATP ended last year, because this sucka is a tad on the pricey side. While three day passes end up costing a reasonable $258 (plus 'convenience fees'), this is a 'no camping' event, so you'll also have to find (read: pay for) lodging. On a somewhat fortunate note, ATP, in partnership with two local hotels, has offered weekend stay packages at relatively reasonable dates that will end up setting you and your friends back approximately $60 a night. Apparently, there are only a few multi-person rooms left, so get moving if you don't plan on taking out a mortgage to go to ATPNY this year (or just buy a single day pass, which will only set you back around $130).
