A front-man laden dream team are about to be showcasing their labour at SXSW. If you happen to be a fan of Deer Tick, Dawes or Delta Spirit then this news may be of specifically exciting interest to you. More details after the jump.

In the sixties and seventies, musical collaborations hit the airwaves thick and fast. Everyone wrote songs for one another, recorded with one another, shared doctors among one another, and most importantly loved one another. This wave of cross party creativity seemed to have lost it's spark through the eighties, and specifically nineties due to increasingly demanding, and shall we say, harnessing contractual obligations. However the noughties has managed to scratch at the surface again with the likes of Jack White making music with whoever he darn well pleases.

It doesn't look like the world of music is going to go back to its old ways either. Could 2010 be the year of the "supergroup"? Thom Yorke has already given us an insight to his latest venue filling line-up, and now it's the turn of front-men: John McCauley, Taylor Goldsmith, and Matt Vasquez from Deer Tick, Dawes and Delta Spirit respectively.

These three musketeers will be showcasing material written in Nashville under the inventive label, MG&V. After developing "an affinity for each other's songwriting," the group decided to dedicate more time with each other's company and turn jamming sessions into a proper venture. The three have been recording with Dawes drummer Griffin Goldsmith; however, no album details have been released thus far. IYS will of course keep you posted. Until then, if you happen to be trawling around Austin, Texas on March 19th then be sure to check them out. Deatils down below.

MG&V Tour Dates 2010

3/19 Austin, TX @ The Ale House at 1AM SXSW
