Alright, this is one for the books. Not these Books; the history books. Dresden Dolls alum and all-around rockin' human being Amanda Palmer has teamed up with experimental musician Jason Webley for what has to be the most outwardly bizarre side-project of all side-projects. Yes, that includes side-projects that are side-projects of side-projects. The pair have invented a pair of fictional conjoined twins, complete with detailed back stories, and are now planning to unleash an album in their name(s), Evelyn Evelyn.
Initially, it didn't appear to be certain whether the twins were purely concept or if the conjoined singers were, in fact, real people. One savvy look at the group's first official photograph, however, and the gimmick reveals itself. It has been reported that Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, will be making her singing debut on the forthcoming full-length album from Evelyn Evelyn, which hits stores on March 30. Check out a free mp3 of track "Have You Seen My Sister Evelyn?" below, which sounds like it wouldn't necessarily feel out of place at an old-fashioned freak show.
